Atelier Meteny is led by Pascal Gilis who studied at the International School of Violinmaking in Cremona, Italy.

For the past twenty years Atelier Meteny has specialized in set-up, restoration and sale of new and antique instruments and Pascal continues to make his own instruments, which are inspired from the top Italian masters and are well respected by instrument makers, dealers and musicians.

The model we offer is a Meteny 4/4 Violin that is a copy of le Duc Guarneri 1744 with the following features:

• First choice wood quality, selected to match each instrument model/conception, for example a Gasparo da Salo with one piece back and front
• More care given to the style of all proposed models
• Mixed varnish: alcohol and Venice turpentine
• Inlays made by hand
• Made in Romania, finished and varnished in Belgium
